In January 2018 we saw a number of people who wanted a small, invisible hearing aid that fitted into the ear canal. Therefore the most popular hearing aid we fitted in January 2018 in our Sydney offices was the Phonak Virto Titanium. This completely-in-the-canal (CIC) hearing aid protects the electronics inside with a very thin but strong outer shell. This allows the manufacturer to custom fit the aid into a small package that is worn in the user’s ear canal. These devices do not suit all hearing losses, but are popular with those whose hearing loss and ear canal suit the CIC style.
